Pioneer VSX-1020-K vs. Onkyo TX-SR608 vs. Denon AVR-791

Thread Starter
Does anyone have experience with these three AVR's?

I have been trying to make up my mind for the past week on one and I am exhausted of trying. lol

My budget is $350 or less.

I'm open to other suggestions, but these three seem to be hands-down the best units available in my price range.

My speaker system that this will be powering is:

Energy RC-50's x2
Energy RC-R's x2
Energy RC-LCR
(Sub hasn't been purchased yet.)

I will need AT LEAST 3-4 HDMI connections.

I'm not worried about Pre-Outs as I have no intention of buying an Amp.

I don't mind buying Used or Refurbished.

I only want current models. What I mean by this is I don't want Receivers that were discontinued and replaced because the technology and connectivity on them will be inferior to the needs of current and future tech that will be connected to it.

Hopefully that explains everything! lol

Thanks!
Gideon

I would personally go with the Pioneer for that price point. It has alot of specs you need and wanted and great reviews.

late post, but if your interested...
i have the pioneer bought it 6 mths ago and am glad i did.
my old setup had 5 inputs and i kept having to decide what to disconnect
8 source inputs (6 hdmi), 9.1 surround, internet radio, usb
it has 2 amps in it, i run 5.1 surround and use the 2nd amp to run speakers on the porch
you can watch bd movies in 5.1 in the living room and listen to cd's on the porch
remote works everything and learns what it doesn't know

Look at the onkyo 260. Its the 608 minus sat radio, thx cert, and vga input. Usually around $100 cheaper than the 608.
