Yes, it will.
If you want smooth operation, always go for a single beasty card. Always.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but the 590 will behave like any other multi-gpu card. I'd bet it won't be as smooth as a single GPU card.

Someone who knows more about how multi-GPU cards work may want to weigh in, but it's my understanding that it will behave just like a SLI multi-GPU setup = microstutter etc.

you know, I have used SLI for my past 3 builds (currently have 3xGTX280s) and have never experienced any problems... never had any microstutter or anything...

Not everyone experiences it, some people are used to it to the point where they don't notice it, and some people actually cannot see it.

Maybe Nvidia fixed stutter on the 2xx series cards like ATI did with the 4xxx series cards. The Nvidia 4xx and 5xx series cards still have problems.

In general though, I think the 590 should behave like a SLI setup, not a single card. That's how it was with the 295.

I tried these setps recently.
GTX460 768 SLI
560SLI
570SLI.

The 460 768 sli system seemed to have some microstuttering. Neither the 570 or 560's in SLI did. This left me to believe that some of the lower cards that had a hard time keeping up might be more prone to microstutter. I dont know that as a fact just a theory.

If you think about it if your frame rates are being pulled down the cards are working hard to keep up, so that might contribute to the issue. That is my theory at least.

i say with the 460 768mb.... in SLI... you where probably running out of VRAM

causing it to lag/stutter...

try downclocking the 560 for example...

and you will notice that it probably still won't stutter

i wish they would use the GPU from the 560 instead of the bigger architecture one...

i would say just make it 2x 560s, but make it so you can have two of them for quad sli.

Think you misunderstood the word "official". Because that means it's the manufacturer which shows it to the public. Not a phone call, which can't be documented at all.

although, look foward to some impressive results overclocked under water.
I don't believe that it'll be downclocked in the slightest. The ARES has two 8-pin connectors and a 6-pin connector and draws 351w so the whole "They won't want to break the 300w limit thing" is already crap. There's been what, one picture stating that EVGA has a dual GF110 PCB and a photo of the prototype? We need more evidence before making ANY assumptions. Links please.

I didn't read the whole topic but by judging the way TC mixes English words with French ones, I'm pretty sure he's French. Lol
