There's been what, one picture stating that EVGA has a dual GF110 PCB and a photo of the prototype? We need more evidence before making ANY assumptions. Links please.
Breaking the whole 300w pcie limit, Is like breaking the laws of physics around here it will never happen, Not atleast untill noah's ark sets sail again.

I have been saying it all along, it is possible, But yes we need more evidence!

with a card apparently so close to being released i'm very supprised at the lack of info on it, Makes me think we have a while to wait yet. The gtx 580 is only like what 12 weeks old.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the '300W limit' is just a function of the combination of a 6-pin (75W), 8-pin (150W), and a mobo (75W) GPU powering scheme.

I don't think like there's some law that says a GPU can only consume 300W ... the makers just have to add more/bigger power leads if they want their product to be able to (safely) pull more wattage than that.

And I think the GPU makers ATM will shy away from making cards that require 2 x 8-pin connectors (375W total) because only expensive high-end PSU's tend to have 2 x 8-pin connectors and they don't want to limit their market.

But I'll say it again ... I'm guessing the upcoming dual-GPU Fermi, if it happens, is going to be dual GF114, not GF110. It just makes so much more sense on every level.

Eventually some partners (like Asus) may throw together another Ares-type card with dual GF110, but I don't think nV will make an official product like that.

Also, some motherboard makers (Asus, ASRock) put a molex connector by the PCI slots to give more juice to the PCI slots. There's also that EVGA thing that plugs into a PCI-E 1x slot to deliver more power.

these cards are aimed at the high end minority so i think two 8 pin connectors will be possible. surely anyone buying a gtx 590 would be able to afford a high end psu most psu's use 2 x 6+2 pin pcie connectors so plugging a 2 x 8 pin card would be easy

Send an unladen African Swallow instead, they could carry a larger projectile or heavy object by them selfs so it would be easier. You'd probably have to use two European swallow's to get anything done.
