Rams for Mobo question

Thread Starter
hey, i have an Asus M4N78 PRO and I see it can handle 3 types of Rams... DDR2 1200oc, 1066 and 800mhz... I checked for 1200OC but it seems they're rare and I'm currently using 4gz of 800mhz... I was wondering if I should switch to 1066mhz? There was a side note for the mobo stating:

"*Due to AMD CPU limitation, DDR2 1066 is supported by AM2+/AM3 CPU for one DIMM per channel only"

I was wondering what does that mean?? Will I see a big boost switching the Rams?? I'm currently using an AM2+ cpu right now...

Not worth upgrading at all to be honest - you wouldn't notice the difference except in benchmarks. One DIMM per channel basically means that, because it's dual channel RAM, you can only use 2 sticks of RAM if you're running it at 1066MHz.

and remember you can overclock ram as well. it doesn't have to "be" 1066mhz ram to run at that speed.

DDR2 1200OC is overclocking(OC), the ram doesn't need to be that speed, its the board telling you it can handle ram overclocked to 1200mhz
