You can get the i5 2500 up to about 3.8 GHz, it does have some play room. That isn't a big overclock from 3.3 GHz, but it's fair, especially if all you wanted was ~4 GHz anyway. If you wanted to get something like 4.2 GHz+, I'd just sell the i5 2500 and then buy an i5 2500K off someone. I've seen them go for ~$190, I may have even seen one go for $180 on a forum, but I can only confirm the $190 one.
