P8P67 PRO boot/sleep issues

Thread Starter
I have been able to overclock my CPU pretty good and even at 5.1Ghz it can run stable with intelburn and folding for 9+ hours. But even if I only overclock to 4.2 or something every time I start my pc in the morning I get bad boot issues. Sometimes the RAM led on the board will stay light and then restart and then the led will come back on and it will just sit there with nothing on the screen and I gotta hold the power button to turn off then on. Then it will say my overclock failed no matter what it's set at. I even had it do it to me before I overclocked anything. I have the 1204 BIOS and I used the auto overclock option in the BIOS and it put it at 104x43 and it also overclocks my RAM slightly.

Also I used to use my sleep function all the time but now when I try to wake it up everything turns on but my screen. Also the led on my receiver for my wireless mouse and keyboard that usually only lights when a button is hit or mouse is moved, just stays on and i'm forced to hard power cycle my pc when I then I get what happens above.

Thanks for any help received in advance.

The coming back from sleep mode issues are well known and there currently isn't a fix.

The dram led and overclock failed issues are actually quite serious. I would try updating to 1253 and see if that doesn't help.

if you change the sleep ode in bios,to SP1 IIRC, it will "sleep", and there are no more issues, but the fans/lds will run

I tried to flash 1253 but it said something like it wasn't a valid bios. I think i'll either try 1053 or wait for something new. Does anyone think that with the whole chipset thing they will continue with BIOS updates?

Sleep mode there is no fix right now, I just upgraded to 1204 BIOS and regret it. Was at 1053 with no problems, but I now it is just a disaster.

Your OC of 104x43 might be a problem. Try 100x43 or 100x44.

I had the DRAM light problem myself. I think it is gone, honestly don't know. Try clearing your CMOS.

I tried to flash 1053 and it says it's out dated. I'm putting the ROM file on a flashy and just using ez flash through the BIOS. Is there another way to do it thats safe?

I had the same problem on 1053, so I would not bother. It does not always happen. The overclocking failed message has not shown up recently. I stopped using anything over a 100 bclk and I think that is why. So, 100/51 to get your 5.1. Heck, you may find that using 100 bclk will get your special chip even higher than 5.1!

EDIT: I am 99% sure that your memory overclock is causing your overclock failure. If you do not want to change your bclk then maybe you need to up the voltage for your memory a tick or two.
