6950, 470 or 560ti

Thread Starter
Last post about this sorry everyone but I am looking at the 6950 for $280, and the 470 for $255. The 560ti for $250. Now I know the dual 470 sli would be wicked but my wallet says no no no lol. I may in the future sli or cf something in 3-6 months from now but right now its a single card. I also was reading that the 6950 has driver issues and doesnt cf good. $280 is like the max I can go. I just need reassurance on which card to get. It is a lot of money to fork out. Also, why is the 560ti(newer but more money)?

Here is the link shown some numbers among the cards in your post. don't feel comfortable 6950, the $250 GTX560 is the way to go.

me personally gonna get the 560 , soc it and have gtx 570 s level, all the trouble by unclocking the 6950 to 6970 and then have to overclock it more to get to 570 level isnt worth it imo considering its a bit more expensive than the 560 and u might **** up your card while flashing. just my 2 cents

So many bias opinion and no hard facts to prove it.

http://www.overclock.net/ati/890793-...d-6950-hd.html

6950>560>470.

If money is an issue get the 560. If you can spare $30 and 5 minutes for mod then get the 6950. If you're planning to SLI a 470... then I rather you SLI 460. 460 SLI is cheaper and give out great performance, probably the best bang for your bucks.

Edit: posted wrong benchmark and now correction is made.

Ahh okay. So i have the gigabyte ep45-ud3p mobo and e8400, yes I WANT to right now this second upgrade and I have the cash but they had the recall so I am waiting a few weeks. I am curious if my board supports it. It is rev 1.0 or 1.1 I forget but it said pci-3 x16 2.0

******1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8
(The PCIEx16 and PCIEx8 slots support ATI CrossFireX technology and conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.) *****

what do you guys think? If I get another mobo can I use my E8400 until they resolve the 2500k chipset(sandy bridge) issue?

EDIT: It is v1.0

I would say HD 6950 2GB easily. Just but 2 min unlock you get 20% more performance then GTX560. You can OC GTX560 but so can the unlocked HD 6950. Mine does 975Mhz @ 1.3v.
