Ekfc580 on 570 - Thermal pad advice

Thread Starter
Installed my new ek fc 580 on an evga 570. Straight forward, but need input. Used the pads how ek directed but there is a very small gap between the mosfet chips and the block. Intended? I assume not and I can switch that pad to 1mm, but just confirming. Used .5 as directrd but there is a very small (less than a mm) gap.

If there's any gap at all then use the thicker pad period, no scratch that, don't even think about it, if your not sure than use the thicker pad.

Ignore EK directions. Use the thinest thermal pad you can that will still provide a solid contact between the card and block. When screwing the block on tighten the screws around the GPU core first to ensure good contact.

Yeh, the EK layout worked fine except for that one spot. Was curious if the area was taller on a 580 or something.

I installed based upon the directions provided by EK, and everything worked out fine. I even unmounted the block to make sure all pads were lined up correctly.
