Need a New Gaming Keyboard - Page 2

I love love love my G15s. Of all of the keyboards I have used, they are the best. I have both versions but prefer the first one which you can probably find mad cheap somewhere.

I've had multiple Saitek and Logitech boards. The Saiteks are decent but I don't think I would buy another one. The Logitech G15(not sure if it was v1 or v2) was excellent: keys felt great; the height of the keyboard and wrist wrest was comfortable; backlight wasn't too bright; and I never had problems in games with it.

I was looking at the K750(solar keyboard from Logitech) and the Ultranav(w/ and w/out keypad from Lenovo) when I upgraded. The Logitech is low profile style keys and the Lenovo is supposed to be a direct copy of the Thinkpad keyboards, which I love. Neither has any gaming/macro keys but that isn't a big deciding factor for me.
As I stated in the OP, I do not want any Razer products nor do I want a mechanical keyboard which I believe the Black Widow is, correct?

I don't want any of those Logitech boards with the LCD screens or any other brand that has boards like that. Even if I did want it, it would be too expensive anyway. I'll update the OP tomorrow with my price range (less than 70 USD) if I haven't decided yet.

Thanks again guys for the help.

Are you sure that's not the V2? Everywhere I've looked the V1 are mad expensive (larger LCD screen or something and orange LEDs instead of blue).

I would only recommend The Sidewinder X4 or Older Logitech G series boards. Almost every other rubber dome out there plain sucks for gaming and / or is way overpriced. I could not ask for a better rubber dome keyboard. Especially for the black friday price price of 29.99.

Ignore the part where I said I have a G15. I have a G11. All my comments from the original post apply for it. Very comfortable, simple keyboard, and apparently old enough that I can't find what it was replaced by...

Yup I have both. I mean V1. I found my 2 cheap as all ever when the 2nd version came out.

Could you more clearly define just why you have an aversion to Razer products? I'm curious as to why you would want their keyboard products (since their mouse products are just all kinds of awesome).

As for keyboards, I would generally not recommend Saitek keyboards, mostly because I feel like the typing experience with them suck (for me), very soft and such. This is from the Eclipse and Eclipse II boards

I think that your best practical option would either be the MS Sidewinder as you've shown or an older Logitech board, like the original G15/G11, or maybe the G110. I can attest to the G15/G11 being flippin workhorses, and if you ever don't like the LCD screen on the G15, you can just flip the screen down...it's just a matter of finding a G15 v1 for sale.

Actually I'd be willing to sell my G15 v1...

I'm not interested in Razer keyboards because at first I was really into them like a lot of other people because they "looked awesome" but then I started reading factual reviews about them and it seems that their keyboards, or at least the ones I'd be interested in, are pretty low quality. I can't say the same about their mice though as I haven't read about them but it doesn't matter because I already have a Logitech G500 to satisfy me.

The thing about keyboards with LCD screens like the G15 is that I neither need nor want a screen on my keybaord especially since it would be a reason to look down at my keyboard which is pretty lame after knowing how to type without looking at my hands.
The other reason is that they are typically more expensive than regular keyboards, and even if you get a good deal it will still be the same price as a regular keyboard. So why bother finding an LCD keyboard on sale when I can do just the same with a regular keyboard and then pay even less?

Well, I think that I will go with the Sidewinder x4 as it seems to be the best quality for it's price from what I've heard. Any last thoughts?
Thanks for all the help!
