I was a H50+RX120 w/ 3/4" shroud w/ AC F12 fan (1400rpm in pull).
Temps were not where I would have liked them to be on the high end, when I tried overclocking to 4ghz. Temps would hit 65c+, too hot for mama. Thus I went in the other direction, 3.5ghz at 1.2v. In the pic below you can see the gpu temp at 47c. Under load it gets into the 80s. Yea, this case is awful in stock config, at least in my case.
All was not well however, because now I had to deal with the 5850 heat which over time was exhausting onto the microres.
I can't catch a break here. I started thinking about watercooling the gpu and going back to air on the cpu, especially since I'm running low volt mode on it. Would it work and was it a step backwards??
Oh what the heck, I stole a 6970 with ek block off my gaming rig and plumbed it up with a leftover mcp350 and a mini tank plus. After some rummaging thru my WC bits, and an hour later.
Here's the system running prime only, cpu hits 52c at the same point as the previous setup with H50.
I also ran prime with furmark. I'm amazed at the RX120, just incredible. The results so far are awesome for me, and I'm kicking myself for sticking with the H50 for so long.
