I've said it several times in other threads about FF4, but again, most "issues" people have with FF are easily remedied with Firefox's extensive flexibility and customization. A little reading up and you can pretty much do whatever you wish with it. No other browser can touch it on that front.
It is my understanding that everyone is madly scurrying to make their web apps more compatible and snappy for handhelds since that is by far the largest potential market and nobody wants to be left out. On the plus side this reduces bloated code and makes these apps including Firefox faster and more efficient on Desktop PCs. The downside is (but shouldn't have to be) that the inherently small screen real estate forces these apps to do more with less.

This would be fine if they made things optional and not all are. It seems crazy to me as a power user to ask me to depend on reactive bots for security when simply informing me is all I need. Very high on that list is seeing the complete url of a link on a mouseover.

I too vastly prefer Firefox but this issue alone is threatening to be a deal breaker for me not only for the inconvenience but as an example of the development teams priorities. I really need them to come to their senses on this as there is no discernible advantage and a considerable usefulness hit. They need to demonstrate that Desktops are still important or risk becoming unimportant to Desktops.

Firefox does display the complete URL, but it's now at the right side of the address bar instead of down the bottom. I don't really like it there to be honest, but I don't doubt that it can be changed.

They moved it to the bottom left again in Beta 12. I am running the nightly builds.

Excellent, old habits die hard and I don't want to remember where it is every time I switch between Chrome and FF (I use both at work).

This is the first Firefox 4 beta for me, works fine!
I noticed that when I go over a link it is displayed on the address bar (on the right). I would like to use that same position to show the details of when a page is loading (what is currently shown on the bottom left).
In other words, something similar to the extension Fission.
Is it possible without using an extension (by about:config or userChrome.css)?

My beta 10 updated to this without me asking. Seems alright to be honest. Feels like a finished version.

As you can see in the screenshot of my browser below it appears in the top right for me in the URL address bar.

Nope, bottom left for the 12pre! It'll probably change, and might change depending on what addons you use (I use omnibar).

Are you using the nightly builds of beta 12, Sin100? The non nightly beta, final beta builds(10/11. etc) still have it in the address bar, only nightlies have it back at the bottom.
