[ZeroPaid] Sony Demands IP Addresses of YouTube PS3 Hack Viewers - Page 6

Cry cry cry, especially that ridiculous ignorant and closed-minded comment quote. Watching the video won't get you into any trouble with Sony, that isn't why they are wanting the information. They are looking for specific people, such as the failOverflow team. You people need to calm down, it is the same ignorant whining in every thread about Sony's case.

OMG HACKERS ARE HACKING, WHY WONT SONY DO ANYTHING TO STOP THEM.
*Removes gate to such hacks - gives timely warning of such removal*
OMG SONY IS STEALING FROM ME DESPITE THE FACT I AGREED TO THE TERMS TO USE THEIR SOFTWARE INWHICH I DO NOT OWN!!!!
*Hacks*
NOW I R STEAL THINGS
*Hypocrisy*

Complete rubbish. All of you who think you are fighting the system, or extreme libertarians. Pathetic, you have no idea how structure capitalism works, nor do you people know how to keep developers innovative or even initiating. Seriously, look at development for PC and xbox, it is garbage. Especially the PC, why? Because no one wants to develop for a system with so much BS from people who think they own the software, let alone believe piracy isn't theft.

The truth to be hold here is...

If you viewed the hack video...

Sony could technically go after someone based upon the grounds of INTENT...

Like if you "tried" to purchase a gun, and you were not allowed to possess said gun, for instance, or another example might be...

If you "asked" for the knowledge of HOW TO MAKE BIOLOGICAL CHEMICAL WARFARE WEAPON, whether you were aware that it was against internationals laws or not, you would be subject prosecution, and probably worse if the "Powers That Be" wanted to take you out...

Then again....

It will be required to be mandated or ruled by a court that seeking knowledge of the hack is in fact illegal, BEFORE SONY WOULD BE GRANTED PERMISSION TO EVEN REQUEST THE INFORMATION TO FIND SAID VIEWERS, and that's not even actually permission to actually obtain the IP Addresses!! Google could fire back go ___ yourself Sony, and then $ony has to face a corporate giant in court, NOT A GOOD THING...

But then again, mind you, $ony has a lot of gold, so they could have the rules bent towards their favor or get future alterations to the DMCA made by use of that gold...

Remember justice IS FOR SALE...

========================

Personally I know nothing about the DMCA, however, I do know American laws, though if you really want a real professional answer you would have to pay for it, and that's pretty much the bottom line...

Same with me, I don't buy any products that Sony makes. I'll stick with my Xbox 360 thank you very much!

And you know this how? Sony asking for the IP's of ALL who watched the video is every bit as wrong (read:illegal) as the "structure of Capitalism" that you claim is being affected by hacking, especially because they DO NOT disclose what they would do with that information.

All Sony is doing is putting a gargantuan magnifying glass on the situation, which is arguably less helpful than if they had done nothing/only pursued Hotz.

Edit: Was flaming a bit, not going to start that.

This thread is wow. I seriously sat here with my face in my palms reading some of this. You guys are either blind or obvious pirates. I hope you do know that at ANY given time, Sony can completely disable PSN, end all development for PS3, and move on to PS4. At the rate you little pansies are whining and "fighting" back as if it would do anything good, I see it happening.

I'm not saying Sony is right to go after everyone who has watched the YouTube videos, but you guys are blowing it way out of proportion. They're not after you. You're ants. They're after people that are distributing the tools or giving instructional guides on how to use the tools.

I've asked you to get off your high horse before. Or was it another high minded, "I'm smarter than everyone here" OCN member? Regardless, personally, I don't think I'm fighting the system. I know that my opinion counts for nothing with Sony or with the courts, or with the government. However, don't tell me that you are so in love with Sony that you honestly don't care that they are requesting so much information from YouTube about something relatively trivial (that video didn't even have any actual info in it, just a showcasing). Don't tell me that you have no problems with the fact that money buys this much power in a country that spouts a ridiculous amount of "liberties." Honestly, if you are that deep in Sony's pockets, I doubt that I can connect with you, as one human being with another.

Then tell us, how does structured capitalism work? Enlighten me, since you're so smart.

Oh really? PC gaming is dying, is it? How quaint. You believe that PS3 has better games than the PC? Have you heard of the indie scene? Have you visited this page recently http://store.steampowered.com/genre/...snr=1_4_4__12? Show me PS3 or Xbox titles that have as much innovation, creativity, and straight up fun as Super Meat Boy, Braid, Penumbra, World of Goo, VVVVVV, Sam & Max, Magicka. Some of those have made it to the consoles, however the PC is the home platform for those games. The console users are too busy waiting for the next killzone/cod/bioshock/<insert generic violent video game here>.

I can't believe Sony is going this far. What's next? House by house searches to check your PS3? Sony better back off soon, I know someone with some extra AS5 and apparently he's not afraid to use it!

going after hackers and viewers just prove that the ps3 is wide open now to the public and they cannot fix it, if they could fix the hack they could just update the firmware just like what they did to psp when it was first hack

Wow, I guess I should start watching videos through proxies and VPN. This is the problem with sites hosted in the US, it has the worse privacy protection laws when it comes to digital data.
