***Suggestions on my rig.***

Thread Starter
I am building a computer budget is 5k, there is no such thing as over kill for me as I want a superior machine.

Here is the rig so far:

Corsair 800D case
Intel I7 980x
H70 liquid cooling for cpu
Samsung ssd 470 series ssd 128 gig for boot/games
WD Caviar black 1tb.
Corsair AX 1200 modular psu
Blueray reader and burner
Standard optical drive
Asus xonar sound card.
24gb corsair dominator ram 2000mhz

Here is what I need help with:
1.I want to do dual gtx 580s in sli, what's the best company for them? Evga or galaxy? What's the differences.

2. What motherboard should I go with I was deciding asus rampage iii extreme vs ud7 gygabite. The problem is ud7 doesn't support 2000 ram and rampage on the other hand Asus has some serious quality control issues and I have seen people who had to rma the rampage extreme iii times. Also asus has bad tech support... I was considering an Evga motherboard but couldn't find any good ones. 4 way classified doesn't fit my case.

THANKS FOR ALL ADVICE AHEAD OF TIME!!!

EVGA is the best company the 1200W psu is useless unless you get 3 580s a 850W should work if i remember correctly if u have the cash to blow i'd get the asus exreme its a sick looking board

I am planning 3 way sli soon.

With 5k, you should go with REAL liquid cooling
And the rampage seems good... enough if not, then change the case, there are better.
the SR-2 can support two CPU's, if you hadn't known that already. You can use that instead. You really should just change the case. But then you would have to get xeons.
EVGA is the greatest for GPU's. they bin their cards better and have a great warranty.

I was considering sr2 but it didn't support 980x... I've had bad luck with liquid cooling before so decided to go with a pre built one also maintaince is an issue

You haven't listed a motherboard but I would guess the Asus boards the best for Tri-SLI setups.

Lots of people using this board.

Also get the BEST power supply you can stand no matter what any hacks say.
Nothing kills electronics faster than bad POWER!

A better CPU cooling system might be better since the 800D case is so good to watercooling with larger radiators.
This place has lots of kits. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ain_page=index

Stick to EVGA GPU's for lifetime transferable warranties. NVidia for less driver headaches.
Everything else looks pretty good.

thats because the sr2 is designed to use the Xeon server chips, take a look at those if u go sr2 for more threads

EVGA SR2, Tri or 4 way SLI 580s, Two Intel Xeon proc's, 12+ gb of memory, Couple SSD's in Raid 0, Couple 2 tb's in Raid, Silverstone 1500 watt PSU ( OR the EVGA Power Supply )... That is a rig that dominates all..

Yeah that would be nice lol but too expensive...

i wouldn't but evga mobo. I would go gigabyte or asus. If you got EVGA their only good board is the classified, even then its ok. With your budget there is a GB X58A-OC board releasing just for overclockers, or i fyou can find the UD9 it has a lot more features for normal people, the OC board wont have anything more than SATA2/3, and sound and a few usb ports.
