Im on a budget $350 and i think this fits the bill nicely, I dont think i can purchase speakers and a receiver separately for my budget? This will mainly be used for pc gaming, ps3 and bluray. I know that this is not ideal, but is it worth the money for what it is?

From Accessories4less
You could get the HT-S5300 for only $299.99 plus ~$15.00 shipping which uses a larger better "powered" subwoofer And will decode more audio formats plus is 7.1 instead of 5.1. Though you may only use 5.1, you can go to 7.1 later on but with the S3300 you can not. Also comes with the iPod Dangle.(if that matters to you)
http://www.accessories4less.com/make...od-Dock/1.html

You could also grab that HT-S3300 if you want to spend less money for $249.99 Plus ~$15.00 shipping.
http://www.accessories4less.com/make...Package/1.html

What size room will this be going in?

The S3300 system will work fine, just don't expect much from the subwoofer on the low end. I got the S5300 from the above website 2 weeks ago and have loved it since. I went from a Sony HTIB system with a 50W RMS 8" sub and little satelite speakers and I can not be happier.

It would be going in my bedroom about 12'x10'. I like the fact that the HT-S5300 will decode more audio formats like dts-hd..., but the one on accesorys4less is Onkyo Factory Reconditioned.

Correct, They are refurbished but carry the same exact warranty as new. Plus you can purchase an extra 3 year warranty for about $35.00 if you felt the need(through warrantech I believe). That website is held in high regard on multiple audio forums, so don't be scared to buy from them.

Also you could grab an Onkyo TX-SR508 for about $205 shipped from them and spend the other $150 on some good L/R speakers and build your system up slowly, but with good speakers.

here are 2 options from HTD

Level 2 bookshelf speakers $199 pair:
http://www.htd.com/Products/bookshel...shelf-Speakers

or these middies $89 each or $178 pair
http://www.htd.com/Products/flat-pan...t-speaker#more

then you could grab a cheap sub a little down the road(I posted what i believe to be the top 4 for under $250 in another thread).

But really once you start to do this, the S5300 starts to look better and better at your price point. Hard to beat at that ~$340 shipped Price tag. Just know that the front speakers for the S5300 are quite large. The wife was...lets just say...."not happy"...when I pulled them out of the box.

I think im going to get the S5300 and those front speakers are fairly big for where im putting them so maybe i can use the l/r surround speakers for the front? And would a sound card make any difference in audio quality vs the optical off my mobo?

Edit: Accessories4less shipping is $55 so i would probably just buy off amazon

I am currently using the extra two surround speakers as my front. Some battles just are not worth it with the wife. I will be getting either those middies from HTD or some mid-price in-walls come summer.
