VW246H or VE248H ?

Thread Starter
I am going to be purchasing three montitors this week, and am looking at these two Asus models. VE248H and VW246H. Whats your thoughts, opinions and experience with either of these?

what exactly is the difference in these two? I am not familiar with how Asus does their model numbers

Any suggestions for something you feel is better ?

I dont want IPS, and dont really want to go above $275 each for the monitors.

I would have liked it if they had display port for eyefinity set up.

VE248H uses LED

VW will have higher max brightness, but the VE will use less power.

I have two VE246H and its nice knowing that I'm using the same amount of power as a single regular LCD monitor.

i had the VE248H and i returned it. mine had HORRIBLE ghosting and the colors looked off no matter how much I calibrated.

ghosting on the VE248H seems to be an issue on lots of units. Dunno though, newegg has lots of good reviews.

I own a VW246H and like it alot, comming from a 19inch samsung. Use it to play SC2 and watch movies in bedroom no complaints here. Possible going for a 2nd sometime late this year. Have to adjust color, default is to bright in my opinion a couple of minutes should take care of it. Havent play FPS since I use it with the laptop output 8600GT meh!

Either one will be fine.

I'd go with whichever is cheaper really, but I can tell you that the ve248h looks great. smile.gif

Hey I'm considering these monitors as well, is there a significant difference? Other than the LED? I'm leaning more towards the VE248H unless there are reasons not to, or if you have any similarly priced alternatives.

Coming from a Samsung 226BW, how big will the difference be?
