Ok, I am in the proccess of building a new system setup. Now the choice is up to you all which system I will be using - Let me know what you think, the cons and pros of each setup and what you personally believe you would want for yourself as a gaming rig.

Intel Setup
Biostar TP55 Motherboard - Qty: 1 $99.99

Intel Core i7 870 Processor - Qty: 1 $289.99

Corsair CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM - Qty: 1 $49.99

Seagate Barracuda 1TB Low Power Hard Drive - Qty: 1 $59.99

Samsung TS-H663B Internal DVD Writer OEM - Qty: 1 $17.99

Ultra X-Blaster Mid-T Case - Qty: 1 $59.99

Ultra LSP750 750-Watt Power Supply - Qty: 1 $64.99

XFX Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition, PCIe, HDMI, DVI - Qty: 1 $199.99

or

AMD Setup
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula Motherboard - Qty: 1 $229.99

Sony Optiarc AD-7260S-0B 24x DVDRW Drive - Qty: 1 $19.99

Seagate Barracuda 1TB Low Power Hard Drive - Qty: 1 $59.99

XFX Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition, PCIe, HDMI, DVI - Qty: 1 $199.99

Cooler Master RC-932-KKA3-GP Case and 700W PSU - Qty: 1 $199.99

Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 XMS 8GB DDR3 RAM - Qty: 1 $109.99

AMD Phenom II 1100T Black Edition Six Core CPU - Qty: 1 $239.99

- If you don't agree with either one - Post one you might think would be a better choice - budget is around $1,000.00 USD for just the tower.

Thanks for your help!

Out of those 2 configs, I would go with AMD, although the AMD setup costs a bit more. I would try to make 2 different options with a closer price difference for a better comparison

Niether, wait for Sandy bridge to come back, or wait for bulldozer to be released

EDIT: just FYI, you chose pretty cruddy PSUs in both setups. Something like an Antec TPN650 would be a better option.

The AMD setup isn't obsolete yet, so i would go with that. At least you can put the CPU in an AM3+ board when they are released.

the Intel setup has already been replaced with a different socket.

So the bulldozer might/could be compatible with the AMD Board?

You can't put a Am3+ CPU in a AM3 board.

you can stick the 1100T in an AM3+ board, but you cannot stick an AM3+ CPU in the Crosshair IV

I'd say go with amd, the 1100t is nice, gets cood performance and the asus boards are pretty kick a$$. I will go with reflex and say i'd change up the power supply also for hdd if you want good performance save up alittle bit more cash a splurge on the barracuda XT or WD caviar black something with good ratings , 7200 rpm and 64mb cache.
