Ok, I am in the proccess of building a new system setup. Now the choice is up to you all which system I will be using - Let me know what you think, the cons and pros of each setup and what you personally believe you would want for yourself as a gaming rig.

Intel Setup
Biostar TP55 Motherboard - Qty: 1 $99.99

Intel Core i7 870 Processor - Qty: 1 $289.99

Corsair CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM - Qty: 1 $49.99

Seagate Barracuda 1TB Low Power Hard Drive - Qty: 1 $59.99

Samsung TS-H663B Internal DVD Writer OEM - Qty: 1 $17.99

Ultra X-Blaster Mid-T Case - Qty: 1 $59.99

Ultra LSP750 750-Watt Power Supply - Qty: 1 $64.99

XFX Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition, PCIe, HDMI, DVI - Qty: 1 $199.99

or

AMD Setup
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula Motherboard - Qty: 1 $229.99

Sony Optiarc AD-7260S-0B 24x DVDRW Drive - Qty: 1 $19.99

Seagate Barracuda 1TB Low Power Hard Drive - Qty: 1 $59.99

XFX Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition, PCIe, HDMI, DVI - Qty: 1 $199.99

Cooler Master RC-932-KKA3-GP Case and 700W PSU - Qty: 1 $199.99

Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 XMS 8GB DDR3 RAM - Qty: 1 $109.99

AMD Phenom II 1100T Black Edition Six Core CPU - Qty: 1 $239.99

- If you don't agree with either one - Post one you might think would be a better choice - budget is around $1,000.00 USD for just the tower.

Thanks for your help!

because sandy bridge has been put on hold until the p67 chipsets can be replaced by the motherboard manufactuers. sandy bridge wont be back until march.

if you need this rig now, id go with the intel setup. only i wouldnt use that board. id get an asus board or evga board. evga did really good with there p55 boards. also unless you really need hyper threading id go with an i5-750/760 instead. this will save you considerable money.

edit: also for that money i think you can do better on the video card. look at newegg see if you can get a open box deal on a better card.

either would be good
just get better ram, 1333 with cl9 is crap
get some 1600 c8 or better if you can
intel likes faster speeds, amd likes lower timings

Neither are good with 1333Mhz generic RAM; especially on the AMD build, those require an unacceptable 1.65V for JEDEC generic settings!
There's better RAM for cheaper: HyperX 1600 CL9 2x4GB + Free Flash Drive for $88, 2x2 kits there are at least 7 choices that are cheaper and aren't hard to find i.e. OCZ Special Ops or A-Data (But don't use that A-Data on an AMD setup, or expect problems problems problems

All I have to say is Intel & I suggest a samsung F3 1TB over the Seagate

SAMSUNG F3 1TB

5870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-883-_-Product

I suggest you change that PSU as its not very good. It is wintech built & not very good at all

Antec NEO ECO 620C
