It's what I brought over, I had most of this before I got here. I've just been tweaking since I've been here.

No as if he is the 1st person in the world to do a externally mounted water cooling setup

He worked with what he had and I think it worked out great.

This is my second build, last one was in 2006. I kinda swore off building anything with this much stuff. However listening to my GPU's turn into blow dryers got me thinking about this. Now I'm hooked again. I thought about getting an 800D and moving everything there, but think I'm going with the Mountain Mods when I get back. I'm looking at maybe trying my hand with some CNC equipment and making a lot of custom stuff for the loop, maybe even TEC it. Not sure what I want to do. I did find a 12x12 home CNC for a decent price and who knows I may actually make some neat stuff, if nothing else I'll learn a lot.

Thanks for all the great and supportive posts. I've had several chances to get out and trust me with the military costing me a marriage and being gone all the time I've thought hard about it. I do what I do because I love my job and it beats some other things I could be doing. I get to play with cool toys and I've been through several advanced electronics courses to help fuel my hobbies.

This project has been a lot of fun for me, well the building not the waiting a month for parts. I'm gonna keep playing and see what I can come up with when I get back.

Once again, this is a great forum, I've learned a lot from the people on here.

I received the two new cards today. I now have 3 GTX 470's and 1 GTS 450. I've gotten the system put together and leak tested. I now have noticed several things. With the CPU and other components overclocked my PSU just can't keep up. I figured this might happen so no surprise there. However running them at stock with the CPU at 4.1Ghz everything remains stable. I ran OCCT Power supply test and had no issues. Additionally this is definitely way too much hardware for a single RAD. This isn't a surprise either as now my cooling is about the same if everything was on Air. However that being said my noise levels remain low, so I consider this a WIN. I still plan on migrating everything to a larger case and adding at least two triple 140 rads. However until I return to the states the system will stay how it is. I will just have to keep the GPU's at stock clocks and voltages. The CPU will maintain a mild overclock until I can get the heat under control. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this system can do once temps are under control and I have a second PSU to handle the power requirements.

Here's some pictures of what I'm working with now.

Quick question, I was bored and looked this up. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/40...?tl=g30c95s159

Now what I'm not sure about is if this $45 part would even be worth adding at this point since I know need a bigger case and new PSU to really run this gear. That being said if there was the chance of a decent drop in temps than I would strongly consider it as it's really not that much.

Any advice?

Recommend waiting and just getting a bigger radiator for the new case, if you can spend the money now it would be a temp fix but then again you might not even knotice it at all.

And man that case is packed, you think you can get a hammer and pack anything else into it?
Man, that X-Fi has to feel like a thong on fat chick about right now.

And I can definitely see how your PSU can't keep up with all those cards + CPU being OC'd. Be careful...I'm willing to bet it won't keep up for long...

I'm hoping the PSU can last until I get back. Otherwise I'll have to pick up a 1250 or 1.5kw PSU. Granted I will get one eventually but would like to wait to put it in the new case with a 5 - 600w. Dual PSU's the 1250 running GFX and 600 running MB, CPU, everything else.

With only the CPU OC'd to 4.1 everything seems to running good and stable. We'll see what happens though. I just hope if the PSU dies it doesn't start a fire with all my Hardware so close. I'm not sure what my insurance company would say when I called them to claim it.
