Windows 7 + ssd = slow boot? - Page 2

i am timing from windows logo. I took out a stop watch to see what it actually was and not what it felt like and it takes 104 seconds from logo to login screen. the larget pause is the windows logo, after that the system seems to run just as fast. i booted with bottloging and i found these issues.

im not to sure what those mean.

as for a pagefile, i dont think i need it, i have more than enough memory to run the applications i run. i havent notice any application use anything near my full amount, i dont really multitask. max is pandora running while i play a game.

P.S. \\offDisk\\ is a junction i made on the SSD that links to my storage drive. as of now all applications, except a few smaller ones are installed in my storage drive.

Those aren't errors.... those are system files and drivers that are always loaded. One of the drivers are probably corrupt and is causing the delay.

ok. i think i figured out which one it was. i deleted classpnp.sys and let windows repair run, now from logo to login i get 19 seconds. the biggest performance hit i have noticed is the post time with my motherboard. i used to get the beep in 2 seconds now it takes 11. from beep to logo has stayed the same at 3 seconds. I have to see what is going on. maybe my bios corrupt? maybe. o well. everyone has been very helpful thanks

Good job on the fix!

In the BIOS, disable any feature you are not using (i.e. Fireware, 3rd party controllers). Make sure Quick Memory Test and/or Quick Boot is enabled as well.
