I just mean sometime is easier to spend a few bucks to get another one wich might be easier to fix then spend to much time/money on yours. I bought 10 of them last week for 50$....fix 7....and trow the other one...

You can always try the towel tricks....a bit hard on system but almost always work for me.

Probably didn't heat the gpu enough.

I repeaired an E74 with a heatgun: remove gpu heatsink, clean off the AS5 and with a heatgun at low setting, heat the gpu (with a 3" gap between gun and gpu) in a circular motion (keep CPU and surrounding areas insulated)

It has to get hot enough to reflow the lead-free solder...usually takes a good 5 minutes to properly get the cold solder joints to reball.

Best of luck...it's not a permanent fix, lasted about 4 months before it became irreparable.

The way I heat gun is to do like 45 sec on the back of the board on low. Then go 4 min on high to the top. Make sure you hit the cpu, gpu, memory chips, etc while avoiding the caps. Move the gun in small circles and keep the gun moving. Once thats done apply xclamp fix and try it out. If it doesnt work, loosen up the screws some. They DO NOT need to be all the way tightened. It presses the heatsink down on the mem chips and will still cause an error. If it still doesnt work then you may have screwed it for good

heat it up again, make sure you don't touch it for a while after you do it,
also make sure you have it horizontal and sitting flat on the ground
