Should i install the a70?

Thread Starter
i picked up the corsair a70 at bestbuy for 25.99 and im just not sure if its going to be worth it installing it. My biggest problem i have is that i fear i will not get as good of temps as i have now with my current setup. My current setup is LOUD, and its getting old and i am just ready to change it. I dont want to do all the work tho and find out the a70 doesnt do a goodjob. can anyone here comment on the a70 who has one? thanks

EDIT: on second thought...i think im going to take it back and get this or this inless someone thinks the a70 can be within a few Celsius of these.

i just tried to install the a70 and it wont work with my xigatek crossbow mount. the support poles are way too short on the crossbow mount. i refuse to have air just blowing up into my psu as this just heats it up more than it needs to be. im going to take it back and ill get something else eventually.

on a side note...i had to use the a70 compound to put my old hsf back on. my temps seem to be about 2c lower than the as5 i had on...hmmmmmmmm

Uh yeah they use different mounting systems so obviously they won't work together.

4 heat pipes vs 6. The Spire Gemini will out perform the Corsair but it depends what you want and what your trying to achieve. Both of them should give better temps than your XIGMATEK, as it is only 3 pipes, but as for noise, its the fans. No moving parts in the heatsink.

EDIT: Dont forget to consider the size difference between your current one and the Spire Gemini
