windows 7 64 bit ram problems

hi,can anyone help me with this prob/upgrading ram from 4GB to 8GB windows 7 64bit,new build(asus crosshair formula 4 m/b, amd phenom ii x6 1100t black edition cpu liquid cooleded, radeon 6870HD x2 gpu's running on crossfire, 2x w/d 150GB velociraptor HDD's on raid o/striped for o/s and w/d sataii 500GB HDD for sorage, ram 2x2 corsair dominator ddr3 1600MHz CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 matched pairs.when system boots to windows on 8GBram it freezes,why windows say windows 7 64 bit supports up to 192GB ram, m/b supports it cpu supports it.but runs fine on4GBram i am stumped am i missing something?

So you have two separate kits? There is a reason why manufacturers test kits as a whole, even if you have two identical kits that test perfectly fine, it doesn't mean that they will work perfectly fine together.

That or the new kit is bad, you could take out your old ram and only install the new ram and see that it is good first.

Hi and welcome...

Maybe RAM timing or Voltage settings in your bios are messed up. Have you gone into your bios and tried resetting to default?

yeah guys my crosshair doesn't seem to like my 8 gb g.skill ram either, i've tried two sets of ram now, and i get BSOD's it's just appauling that they can ship mobo's with defects like this, it seems like a common problem since christmas.
