AMD is just shaking things up, getting a whole new management team. They probably want the company to be a powerhouse and is getting rid of anyone that is happy with no growth and barely hanging in there. Dirk did good but i guess him and his team isnt aggressive enough for shareholders.

Aye I hope it means better and faster/enthusiast processors... like the old days... but I think they've been moving in the right direction since intel gave them the ok to use TSMC... and I think TSMC will have some very good processors for AMD very soon...

They made me move to intel... and thats not cool with me... but it is cool that intels processors hit 5.0 Ghz...

Probably they've made wrong decisions regarding the new Bulldozer cores, or the made wrong business moves.

When top staff is "invited to leave" it's because they did something that turned out onto considerable losses for the company.

Recruited buy ARM head hunters...?
lol

Or Dirk Meyer is planing a purple cool-aid party in his basement.

Either way I doubt its due to the performance of any future tech.
In fact, Bobcat is hitting it big as we speak with HP dm1z.

Intel is in the weeds over the Sata chip set Issue, causing Hp to miss its netbook launch this week. Mean while AMD is slipping in from behind gaining HP's interest with the Dm1z.

I think AMD Is Cleaning house. Bout time if you ask me.

Bobcat could very well move to corner this market..

If Bulldozer is huge, we could see a serious gain in market shares for AMD indeed!

This is what I hope, ^ AMD, goodbye Intel... (if that's possible)...

Lower prices for all, SIGN ME UP ON THAT BAND WAGON

====================

On Topic...

This really boils down to 1 of 2 scenarios..

1) These guys received their bonuses (Got Paid Well) and are either looking to move on to better opportunities or retirement.
2) AMD is bringing down the axe, e.g., Downsizing, Rightsizing, or cleaning house as they say...

That's pretty much the bottom line, all other possibilities would be too speculative...

If scenario 1 is true, watch for falling stock prices in the near future...
(E.G. Corporate officer payout usually has an impact on stock values)

If scenario 2 is true, watch for rising stock prices in the near future..
(e.g. Rightsizing is all the rage, however note this also hides financial failures too!)

Or maybe Bulldozer isn't really up to the task of facing Intel, and they wanted to leave before the storm hits?

As I understand it, these were 2 top Execs, that are suddenly leaving AMD, 2 months (supposedly) before BD launches.

It makes you wonder.
