We're either going to be wiped out, used as batteries or assimilated.

This might be the end of the world. Watch them just come out and try to kill somebody or something.

Its the end of the world as we know it
and i feel fine......
I think people do not realize that by the time it happens we will be too late to stop it. If a machine/computer becomes self aware it will copy its code to the internet to be picked up by another computer (self generating virus) so that when they use that kill switch on computer A computers B-Z will already be running the code. At this point it could spread to a bot net, control information flow, then hack the stock market make tons of money "seemingly legit" and then start employing humans and robots (think car factory) to make what ever it wants- right under our noses. THEN after the self aware super code becomes powerful enough / builds its army's it will let us know its here, but by that time we will not be able to stop it.

I like to think that as soon as we build a fully functioning quantum processor and feed it an AI type program with self writing capabilities that will create the ultimate AI that can and will run the world.
