Overclock a HP Labtop?

Thread Starter
Hey all.

First, I have no knowledge in doing this, and no idea if my computer can handle it at all, so my question is as follows:

My computer: HP Pavilion dv7-1098eo Entertainment Notebook PC
Can it be overclocket safely?
I don't want to burn the chips mind you

Also attached is my dxdiag txt file.
Would love to get some info on if it can, and if how much is doable.
Waiting for a reply from the proos

cause its a laptop.

Insufficient cooling, no real world gains.

You'd be better off getting a solid state drive if you want a performance boost.

It's a pain to do, you won't get much out of your CPU, and it will just produce more heat that laptops already have a hard enough time dealing with.

Laptops are not made for overclocking. Usually they don't even have the BIOS options that allow you to do it. And they don't have the cooling capability, some laptops overheat even at stock settings.

Overclocking is desktop only except for idiots who buy $5,000 Alienware laptops portable desktops.

Doubt its possible at all, considering most pre-builts have a locked BIOS anyways.

99.9% of the time really. I have never seen a laptop that even has that. Is there one?

Thanks for the feedback guys.
It runs okay, runs Microsoft Flight SIm with just over 30 frames, which is okay to me.
But was looking at options to maybe get that extra out of it.
Better get me a new one when needed then

Pavilions are known for getting extremely hot as it is, trying to overclock it will send it to it's grave earlier. I had a similar model and I know others that have had these same problems, so you shouldn't even attempt it. Just my
