Very occasionally. Never in HP, Acer, etc. I've seen it in Alienware and a couple of high end Asus laptops. Otherwise no.



Anyway, with laptops it's usually better to underclock than to overclock. Underclocking will give you more battery life and decrease the likelihood of the computer overheating and failing, which is something HP laptops in particular suffer from a lot.

Pretty much yeah, get a better laptop when you need it. Im still rocking a 1.8ghz celeron dual core machine I added 2x2gb's of RAM and a 7200rpm 500gb HDD too.

if anything, with the heat that comes out of those pavilions, you would want to undervolt it.

Had mine shut off on me while playing Arkham Asylum...laptops just can't handle more heat
