You can either consider an AMD Phenom X6 1100T build or a I7 2600K Sandy Bridge build for the budget that I outlined. As others have mentioned that $4,000 USD's can be spent elsewhere since he is moving out.

Additionally you posted in the wrong section. It should be under either Intel Build/Logs or AMD Build/Logs.
I would never of thought 4,000 was spoiling.. I thought it wasn't going to be enough...

Sorry for the wrong section, I'll get my jist around the forums sooner or later, my condolences.

Well the monitor is coming in 2weeks amazon says. And I honestly Think of giving him a check for just 2,000$USD, with the monitor, so then he will know, I still got to get word from him if he will buy part's or not, I wish he would log on msn. have to wait until saturday.....

Well, the budget included monitor which he ordered. I think the u3011 was the one thing we all agreed on anyway. That leaves him with like 2700. That's reasonable. I mean I have 5k in my tower alone.

That sounds great. I'd be ecstatic if I received that monitor and a $2,000 budget for a computer

They're just overpriced basically. For some reason or another, Alienware is really the only established high-end PC brand. So when people who don't do research buy a computer, they usually end up overpaying for one of those.
