Budget of 4,000$ USD - Page 19

Here's a build that I just completed specifications for using Newegg. This is a great build and it came to under $2000 USD.

4,000USD, to bad I bought the monitor. but Then again you guys said don't get one so good for me.

PS: Why is these so expensive? Style?
Mainly nerd bling among the Uninformed user. Because everyone is like ooo Alienware, it must be awesome and the best of the best. And the other fact is that there is always about a 500 dollar premium on pre-built gaming pcs.

your son turning 18 right? why does it sound like your son's some spoiled 12 years old that doesn't know anything and needs his old man to take care of everything? ok, my mom paid for my rig but i'd the hell say f*** this if she was getting even just half as frustrated as you do now, John. i'm not old enough to make judgement on adults but i know your son is one hell of a garbage, if i were your son and i get a father willing to pay 4k i'll just say hell ya and know exactly what to order. i don't know man, i don't know how fathers feel about their son but it seems your son needs some education...

Hey its okay, I can understand where you're coming from..

The problem is I don't have 100% Custody of my son, and only get to see him so many times per week/hours, as court ordered, so my relationship is not that strong with him but I do know he loves computers, and i'm trying to be there for him and give him everything. Even though it might take some hard cash $, but in the end it will be worth it. Sorry for the misconception about him.

i have to agree with some others, i bet your son would be beside himself if you handed him a huge box of parts and hardware, especially $4000.00 worth, and said happy birthday!!! I'm sure he would have a blast putting it all together!

Except you can achieve the same reaction for 100% less of the cost with a budget similar to $1500-$2000 USD and even lower.

I think you should switch to intel and build around it in my opinion. Especially since his kid will be running intense applications where Intel will def. give it more of a boost.

Personally, I'd get the i7 970, Asus Rampage 3, 12gb DDR3, 2x 120gb SSD's
GTX 580, 1000watt Corsair HX, Get the CM Haf X and a TB HD
