Budget of 4,000$ USD - Page 34

I Just read through all 34 pages, what a mess... Wheres -iceblade^ when you need him? To busy giving me infractions

Jokes

On topic though, have a good Face to Face Conversation with him, when you can and set a price boundary in concrete.. You will end up getting to little power for what he does or too much spend too much $$$

The Dell Monitor you bought and the 980X is a good start though

I would be wise to listen to this poster...

Though maingear is rather overpriced..

You said nice, not stellar, btw...

Anything over $2,000 is pretty stellar...

x2, Just got done reading the whole thing. It took me 2 days, last night when I got home from work and then finished it this morning with my coffee. So many people coming in with a lot of nonsense that do not read through the thread should be completely ignored.

Based on what Tutoriael wants and what his son needs*, the following build should be considered if he has not yet ordered the PC parts that some people convinced him to go with.

EDIT: And iVy bridge is socket 1155.
Not from wiki, just from general knowledge pretty much gathered from here and other forums and from reading all of intel's releases when I'm bored. Anyways, Intel isn't gonna go single socket on us anytime soon, so when Intel comes out with their high-end sandy bridge i7s they will be a new socket (not sure if it is 1355 or 1356).

The MSI Big Bang is way overkill for a single card set up.

The P6X58D-E is a GREAT mobo.

I was torn between the 2, and went with the P6X58D-E.

Mac's are way overpriced vs the performance of custom built PC.

They come with a 5770, and offer only a 5870 as an added custom option for $200 extra.

The build above spanks a Mac Pro for the same price.

The 980x + 580 is a way better choice.
