We advised against Sandy Bridge because of the faulty sata ports. (And he couldn't wait for the revision)

I want to know what you ordered tutoriael!

That screenshot/picture that was posted above was what I ordered. 3 More day's and newegg says it should be at my house! Then it's time to package this baby up for my son! Can't wait!

seriously you guys are out of your league as to what to buy for someone WHO DOES 3D RENDERING... A gaming graphics card WILL NOT perform the same way as it would a workstation card. Again he needed a workstation card, not a 570, 580 or similar. Second the processor should have been the i7-970. Soon to be ALOT cheaper due to the price drops by intel:

There is NO reason he would need to have an unlocked multiplier..

This.

Whoever was in private contact with this guy obviously doesn't understand how 3D rendering works, and the system you recommended to him is more of a gaming machine than a rendering machine. Although it is still better than what he currently has it is not as good as it could have been.

Wow I feel like you got shafted by whoever was helping you choose those parts. There were infinitely better choices for just about every part you ordered.
