because work station graphics cards like the one his son was looking for run up at about 1800 each. The monitor itself cost 1700 which he could have got for 1100 if people actually linked him to the correct pages before he purchased...

Second I'm going to say this again... a 580 isn't a graphics card you want to use for rendering 3d objects... you would want a workstation gfx card...

third you can get the EXACT SAME performance from a 970 to a 980 and it's 400$ cheaper at the moment...

This isn't a contest about buying the most expensive ram on the market. It's about building a system for his needs...

No no no.

The Quado cards aren't better. They just have different drivers.

It's physically the same card, you're just paying three times as much for the drivers.

Wow, I come back and read everyone's posts, and now everyone is saying i've done a horrible job and "I've could av done better"...

I feel very disappointed right now, sigh. I did my best I think, and quite frankly, Don't care for those people who were "trolling me" as you can say... I think my son will love this and I can't wait to help him build it together on his bday.

Like I said again, thanks for the people that "Did" help, and not the "people that so called Trolling"

Get an intel build, maybe a sandy bridge or a Core i7 920 and pair it with a GTX580, get 8GB of DDR3 memory clocked at atleast 1333MHz and get him a 1Tb hard Drive in RAID 0 with a Samsung 500GB Hard Drive and water cool the system for crazy OCs and get a 1000Watt Power supply.

You didn't do a bad job at all. It's all just speculation. I wish my dad had ever done anything like that for me.

Wait, you already bought the parts?!

Why the heck are we here, then?

Sir, we are not trolling. You simply made a mistake.
