if intel can make a 2 watt processor with hyper threading (atom) why not copy and paste that 50 times to make a 50 core 100threaded processor at only 100watt tdp..... let me guess the heat dont scale like that? even 25 core 50 threaded processor would be impressive in a under 100 watt tdp.

it would be great for server applications, no?

Read a few more articles sometime. I've read a bunch of them talking about different server applications using many Atom processors for a server.

Also, you have to consider many other things. For one, Intel wants to sell their more expensive server CPUs.
