finishing a build for my parents, which card for them?
DX58SO board
i7 920 DO processor
stock cooling
6GB OCZ DDR31600 gold xtc
1tb samsung spinpoint f3 (OS)
1tb samsung ecogreen (media, backups)
OCZ 600 watt PSU
Thermaltake M9 case

Micro Center - Diamond 5750PE51G Radeon HD 5750 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.0 x16 Video Card 5750PE51G I'm looking at this card from microcenter, I'm not sure what card they're going to need they just watch movies and do basic stuff that parents do like Microsoft Office and pictures of their grandkids.

I'd like to stay under $100. What about any Nvidia cards? I think that 5750 will be too much card for them.

Why not a HD5570? or HD5550? it will be enough for HD playback.
or even a GT430...

Those are perfectly reasonable, I just wasnt sure what would be the best option. They dont need future proof just enough to play movies and make Aero work. Would those 5500 series cards work for that?

In that case, 5500 series such as 40w 5570 is fine.

would a 5750 be overkill? I realize a 920 processor and 6GB ram is already overkill but it's what I had laying around

Yes, the 85w 5750 is an old school GTS250 and better, a bit but you already have budget, so why not.

a little, yeah. it would be like a 2-way GTX580 SLI to play on a 14" monitor kind of thing. This might be a little exagerated

For watching movies and browse the internet any modern onboard graphics would do, like a HD4250 or Nvidia 9300, but you don't have such an option with that LGA1366 board. The 5500 series is fine with the low wattage as linskingdom stated, but if you want to buy the 5750, you can never have a too much powerfull videocard, but it would be lying there not to be fully used.

Got it. Am I missing something about the wattage though?
