In the market for a laptop - dv6-3225dx

As of last week, when my wifes 6 year old compaq finally went 'kaput', I have been looking for a replacement Admittedly, I have been poking around for a while finding what type of notebook would suit our needs. My top end range is about 600, and the pc will be used for many purposes, including typical word processing, minor Photoshop and lots of statistics work. It is not meant to be a desktop replacement, as I will be doing my heavy lifting with the desktop I am building. Mainly it will go with me as I finish my undergrad work and move On to grad school.

So far I am enamered with the aluminum case rather than the plastic, and as I am not a Mac fan I have looked mainly at hp. The dv6-3225dx fits all of this pretty well and is about $600 at best buy. The problem is, I cant find much in tue way of reviews!

So let me know what you think!

P.s. I am posting from an iPod (yes I know, not a Mac fan) so I apologize if this is a messy post. Thanks!

Bestbuy usually overprices merchandise more than all other retailers, and hp isnt exactly know for their quality.

You can get much better deals for your price range, especially if you give up the idea of aluminum.

Lenovo G460 Laptop: Core i3-380M 2.53GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, 14" 1366x768 WXGA LED, WiFi N, Bluetooth, 6-cell, 0.3MP Webcam, Win 7 Prem for $499

And THATS why I asked here. Very nice! Much more reasonable price. Any idea how long that code will work?

no clue. If you want it, I would buy it asap, if you want to wait then there will always be another sale down the road, but for another manufacturer with different specs.
