2gig ddr2 667
250gig hit deskstar

I started a clean install of xp pro it made it to format disc & has been going for 1.5 hrs
Is this normal or do I have an issue?
How long should I let it run before giveing up?

It takes awhile, I think I've had to wait 4 hours for a reformat and reinstall of Vista on my laptop before.

Reboot it, and recreate the partition before formatting it.
