Yea, but I think the 560s perform similarly, and is much more efficient. Not to mention cooler and quieter

Haha, but yours runs smoother! Currently running SC2 off of a pair of 450s and have to dial settings down to medium

I don't know either. Since I've waited this long, I might go with a 6990 or 590 depending on price/performance. I really wanted to go w/ 2x 6950 2gbs, but the inability to hook up all 3 monitors on either DP or DVI broke the deal for me, since tearing is much more noticeable on portrait setups :\\

well the 6950 2gb are the best bang for your buck as far as VRAM and performance...but as you know, having to buy 2 duel link mini DP adapters @ almost $100 a piece, kinda kills all price/performance

as far as the tearing, don't worry about it...the only headache I had...was a display flickering off when going in and out of windows/game mode...then I had to literally...physically unhook each usb power cable to the duel link active adapter and wait for each display to power back on.

I believe it's an issue for extreme resolutions, as when I ran a single link eyefinity setup w/ 3x2007fp's, I never had that issue.

that being said, I'm going to be a LOT happier w/ the green team surround solution (not trying to start a flame war, as this is based on my experience w/ eyefinity and surround)

Yea, I had problems with my 3 monitor setup (not even in Eyefinity, just 3 monitors off one card) on the 5870, that was the reason why I switched to a GTX 470 and a GTS 450 in the first place.

The 6990 looks like it could be a viable choice if I can run everything off of DP w/ adapters. But really, I'm waiting to see what the GTX 590 would offer

2Gb GTX460's hands down.

1Gb GTX560 will choke at that resolution.

Na, don't want to deal w/ AMD issues w/ DP and DVI, not mentioning drivers.

As long as I can justify the performance/$. If the 6990 is $600, that's $300/card for 2x 6970s (sorta), and that's more acceptable that $370/card. If the 590 is $700, then it's only $350/card for 2x 580s, which's even better

Yea, that's what I think too. At this point I'm waiting to see what 6990 and 590 brings though.
