Crysis wars, 1 month later. My frustrating experience turned great.

So, about a month ago, I posted a thread ranting about crysis wars, and how the difficulty curve was to the moon. However, being persistent, I kept at it, and I'm finding that the game is extremely enjoyable, and frustration can be all but eliminated with a few tips. I figured I'd share them, in case some of you guys are as competitive and persistent as I am.

1) Chill. You are going to get absolutely destroyed for the first month no matter how hard you try. Don't pull out hair over it. The fact is that the difference in proficiency is really rather large, so it often becomes pros versus newbs. Unless you were good at crysis 1 MP, prepare to be totally slaughtered.

2 There are two kinds of players. Those who fly, and those who die. Like I said, it's pros vs newbs half the time. You need to sprout your wings ASAP if you want to get out of the 0.something K/Ds. That means speed, jumping, and strength. Armor mode is useless, only use it to recharge.

3) WATCH YOUR HEALTH! Crysis wars is extremely realistic in that you are killed with just a few shots. Don't think you have time to find the enemy- if you can't see them, get to cover immediately! Unless they're a terrible shot, they will kill you before you find them and respond.

4) Be observant. The best way to get kills is to take people by surprise. Watch for shadows, glimmers, movement, red flashes from strength mode, white flashes from speed. If you can see them, they can see you, so get shooting!

5) Scar and laser own all. This is true in 99.99% of cases. Just do it.

6) The silencer is detrimental. Don't use it. The silencer reduces weapon damage. Anything that makes you take longer to get the other guy killed WILL get you killed.

7) MOVE. If you stay in one place in Crysis Wars, you are going to get killed. I don't care if your position is godly and your weapons are too. Fly or die!

8) If you're going to use cloak mode, make sure your shadow is covered. Nothing gives away cloak faster than the little round shadow. Spray and the unwary newb is gone immediately.

9) Work with your teammates. If you charge in, guns blazing, no matter how good you are, you are going to die, and you are going to be useless to your team. Communicate!

I'm still struggling to keep a positive K/D in close quarters, but I'm having fun learning!

Hope these tips help.

I loved crysis and warhead, I tried crysis wars and got dead alot. Basically I wasn't into it because alot of people were dicks and it is a steep learning curve.

I think I'll give it another go now though, been looking for something different. Any server recommendations or such?

Hmm... I picked up Maximum Edition a few months ago, just for the sake of playing through the campaign. I never really thought much of Crysis Wars, but I'll have to try it out as soon my GTX 560 comes in.

Bros is good, but so are the players. Take 2 months, not 1.

The BFG servers are good as well.

NoobHunters is your best bet if you want to get some kills, except for their Steel Mill server, which you'll get owned on.

You will get DESTROYED on Ferrets place.

Power struggle is easier to fight in than TIAction. Its quick enough to learn, and gameplay is paced slowly enough to give newer players a chance.
