It much be the PSU, I can't RMA it thought because I forgot to register it a year ago when I bought it. I also herd that it might even be a problem with the PCI slot on my motherboard but I highly doubt it considering it is only 6 moths old.
I was actually able to RMA my PSU, I got the new one in and Im still having the same problem. In the beginning when I was testing my components to see what one was the problem, I pulled my sisters 260 from her Alienware and threw in my card. The card worked fine on her computer for 2 days so I removed it and put hers back in. NOW! she is having the same problem I'm having with my rig running my 285 just with her Alienware with her alienware 260..

Idk if its possible, but is my card killing PCIe slots? Could this be the problem?

Thanks again, WD

Well it might have been that over time the motherboard had an issue or a heart attack and killed a pcie slot. It happens.
If it runs flawlessly in another motherboard, without testing it for a long time, can't really tell. But I would guess that its the motherboard.

Right, but I find it funny that her rig was working fine before I ran my 285 in it. Now shes having the same problem after I tested my car in her rig just with her 260.

Wouldn't that be proof that my card is killing whatever PCIe slot it gets put into?

Well, you could keep killing friends boxes....or head to Best Buy - look for a decent openbox(no restocking fee for returns) machine with an available PCIe slot. Buy it and use it to test if the GTX285 is killing slots like you think it is.

Did you uninstall and reinstall the latest driver on each machine?

I see.
If your friend's computer PCIE doesn't work as well now, it might be that the card is shorting things up. But its odd, as the motherboard should protect it.

As said, did you update the drivers each time you replaced the cards?
