Upgrade from Crossfire 5770

Looking at this card.

Any idea how big of a step up this would be from HIS 5770 crossfire? I'm looking for a single GPU solution and the 500 series seems to be where it's at.

It looks to be like 10% slower if you move to the single card solution.

really? So the only single GPU upgrades are the GTX 580 and ATI 6950\\6970?

I went from 2 5770's to 1 560ti. Benchmarks are a hair lower, but FPS in games is actually higher. I can play FFXIV 16x AA and 60FPS in most areas.

thanks, that's what I'm looking for, RL game improvement. I play WoW, BFBC2, LFD2, TF2, SC2 those type of games. I know WoW is mostly CPU. Plan on getting Just Cause 2 & Rift soon as well.

oh so tempting...

I'm getting a newegg gift card soon though, for between 150-200 and I'm just going to pay the rest out of pocket.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thinking about this card also, I understand it would be more of a side grade in theory but I have a feeling my cards aren't performing as they should, and I'm looking for a single GPU.

The only single gpu upgrade would be the 580. the 6970 is even with the 570 depending on resolution.

I have a feeling my 5770's are under performing then...I only play at 1920X1080 but getting the U2410 soon so max rez is 1920X1200.

Here's my 3DMark11:
http://3dmark.com/3dm11/604593

I also randomly get the clock and memory to drop from 850\\1200 to 400\\900 in the middle of gaming. It doesn't happen often but the entire game goes half speed when it does. I recently upgraded to ATI 11.1 drivers.

Even stock 560's seem to get better benchmarks, and from talking to people the game play seems much smoother.
