Are chipsets with on-board video less overclockable?

Someone said that he finds chipsets that offer on-board video tend to not overclock as well (as chipsets without obv). I want to know your opinion on this.

Well,

Boards with onboard video do tend to be cheaper than their counterparts anyway. They probably don't have as good components etc etc.

No they aren't but since they do not have their own Fans on heatsinks, they will overheat much quicker than a graphics card with it's own fan and Heatsink

My 790GX chipset overclocks just as nicely as a 790FX (that has no IGP) so I'm guessing that it shouldn't really matter unless the added heat overheats the mobo nothrbridge

Are you overclocking with multi only? I would bet the 790FX board can achieve higher FSB. If you're just using multi then you're not pushing anything except the CPU.

I have reached 300 FSB on this mobo (when I had ddr2 1200 capable ram) so I think that is a preety decent overclock for an amd chip

I currently have an MSI 870A-G54 (no on-board video) and it has shut down on me twice for just overclocking to 4ghz. I read a thread where one guy experienced a fire after these kind of random shutdowns.

That wasn't what he was referring too, he was asking if the CPU was less overclockable.

Also, after that little stunt you pulled last night any information that you put out is going to be taken with a grain of salt, if that.

I've heard people saying M4A87TD EVO overclocks better than M4A88TD-V EVO.
Even if 870 chipset is basically 770.... I'd think this might actually be true
