Am just hoping now that I can flash it with both cards in. If not, do you think I could RMA it? Like obviously I would say what I had done. I just can't bear the thought that I just pissed away £200

No. But I haven't tried both cards in yet. That's what I'm holding out for. Am currently waiting for a new PSU so I can try it out!

You know, don't be too hard on yourself. This is how you learn, by making mistakes. I won't tell you how many things I've destroyed by not doing thorough research and having a backup plan, but I learned from each experience. First lesson for you: don't tamper with something you can't afford to replace.

I bet you flashed to a (modified) 6970 bios, it started to bsod at start up so you flashed bios 2? That happened to me. Since i couldnt even get into dos with bios 2, i went into windows in bios one, and just before i started to flash i flicked the switch to 2 (while in windows lol) and it worked out fine. Now one is the original 6950 bios and the other is modified. Not messing with the original again, though if it goes wrong i can just RMA since my card has a dead dvi port (second one).

Why do you need a new psu to try? You should be fine just booting with any psu since you are not crossfiring it?

When you do try it, make sure the 6870 is in pcie slot 1 and the 6950 is in slot 2.

Put all the winflash into a folder called unlock. Put in your bios, rename it unlock. The "1" below is the 2nd pcie slot, or gpu 2.

atiwinflash -unlockrom 1

atiwinflash -f -p 1 unlock.bin

I tried with the bricked card in slot 2 (with no power connectors) and my working 6870 in slot 1. I managed to boot but when I did a hardware scan, it was only showing 1 card. I assumed then that I need to have all the power connectors in to make it work
