It's just for losers that can't play real instruments and want to pretend to be cool.

Yeah... "Serious" games... Because games are serious...

Honestly, you're either trollin' or you really are that simple minded. Just because you're not shooting a rocket at someone's face from 2 feet away with a M2 doesn't mean the game lacks "strategy".

I play my gibson nearly every day, I like to jam along to songs and I had the mentality that GH would just be some lame kid's toy, in reality its quite fun. I'm glad I got over that and gave the game a chance. I haven't played either in ages, but if I had to pick, I'd rather play rock band anyway. They kinda new guitar hero would eventually drop off, glad they gave it away when they did.

I think most people hate on it because of how dorky south park made it look (which it is) but its a fun party game nonetheless.

I think most of the people hating on it have never once even played it.

Saying you shouldn't play a game because it doesn't 100% mimic the real life counterpart is ridiculous. That can be said about pretty much every game in existence. All the people saying that need to stop gaming then.

Get over it.

I'm never a huge fan of "It gets people into it because they don't have to try"
It helped me with my timing as a guitarist and bassist, it's more realistic than people give it credit for and the drumming? Well, on expert+ it's practically just playing electric drums.

After playing a good solo in GH or RB, I like to learn said solo on my guitar.
Having the solo there and being able to see when a note changes and whether it goes up in pitch or down in pitch also helps.

I never said it wasn't fun, or that the point is to get good at an instrument!
What he said means he may have been inspired to play more if he had Saxiphone Hero? It happens to me.

My kit:
Jackson RR-3, plugged into a Modtone Extreme-Metal pedal which goes to my Roland Cube20X guitar amp, which has its headphone out port plugged into my line-in port.
My bass is a cheap Yamaha and I use my Cube20X on a lower volume for it.

+1

People all too often criticise Guitar Hero & other rhythm games because they're not the same as playing a real instrument.
Well, why aren't there similar criticisms about FPS games? RPGs?

Games don't have to be the real thing folks.

Why did they have to lay off the 500 people working on TrueCrime and Guitar Hero. They couldn't have done something else?

Ridiculous. Treat them like factory workers in the 1930's. Programmers need to unionize. Been saying it for years.

Companies should be able to do what they want. If you don't want to work for a software company because of the volatile nature of the industry, then don't. There are plenty of other people who are willing to take on that risk. Unionization wouldn't solve anything. It would simply mean more people wanting to get into the industry, and fewer jobs, neither of which would benefit the workers or the industry as a whole.

Unions don't work. They cause the companies who are forced into using them to be uncompetitive with non-union companies, which means fewer jobs and possibly an end to the companies that use them.

If ever there would come a reason for companies to outsource even more labor to other countries, it would be because some morons in the US decided to unionize yet another industry.

Think about the consequences of a union before supporting it. It really hurts the workers, even though it looks like it helps them on the surface.
