[ENG] HP's 9.7-inch TouchPad: webOS 3.0 tablet with 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon, comi - Page 3

I'm looking to pick up the HP tablet, I already have an ipad which serves its own uses so having another could come in handy.

I'm not even considering the BB Playbook until/unless the battery issues are resolved (which is one of the more amazing things about the ipad).

Take it from a pre owner. There is nothing wrong with the OS. The hardware has been HP/Palm's weakness up to this point.

The OS is brilliant.

Having a completely different OS & internals is like 95% of the difference between the TouchPad and an iPad. I don't believe there can be a ton of diversity in a sheet of glass.

NOPE.avi

HP has one of the largest distribution networks in the tech world, as well as the money to fund a massive advertising campaign. If there's anybody who can be a real competitor to the iPad, it's HP with WebOS.

The only real tablet name at the moment is the iPad. If you go walking around anywhere with a Galaxy Tab people will think it's an iPad, just like how people used to think every MP3 player was an iPod a few years ago.

Apple has the vital thing, brand awareness. Android tablets don't.

The Palm Pre and Pixi sported webOS long before the iPad came out. webOS is NOTHING like iOS.

Agreed! Sold my Pre, and miss it, due to it's poor hardware and crappy wiring... but miss the OS. WebOS is probably the way of the future, competing with android. Hope it kicks Apples well-advertised but poor-product ass!
