Dell mini 9 and no Wi-fi

Thread Starter
I have installed Windows XP Pro and all required drivers on my mini 9. The Broadcom wifi is detecting LAN in the area. I have tried to sign on to one I have used in the past. I have entered the password and the wifi just sits there "acquiring network." Its like the Broadcom card and Windows are not talking to each other.

Can anyone help me other than telling me its a Dell?

Is it your wireless connection you're connecting to, or someone else's?

Someone else's. My sons Karate school has Wi-fi. I have in the past connected all my laptops and netbooks here. (Running Vista, Win 7 an Ubuntu with no problem.)

Have you been able to connect to other WiFi hotspots with this device? Or is it just this place doesn't work? That could rule out hotspot issue vs driver/wifi card issue.

Nope. I've tried the library and McDonalds. Same thing. "Acquiring network."

Interesting. Have you tried clearing and reinstalling drivers? But when you do go to uninstall the drivers. Use a program called DriverSweeper, to make sure that every little thing is deleted.

I've actually re-installed Windows XP Pro, and the latest drivers from Dell. No change.
