Original R2E went up to 100+ degrees. The temp at 80 is actually normal according to asus. Even though one missing screw can effect temperatures, your temperatures are nothing to worry about with good case cooling.
I was under the assumption the system would fail post 100 degrees

so from the looks of it that 1 little screw dropped the temps to 61 degrees. I think i should find that acceptable?

Get a replacement screw ASAP. After the R3F I had I would not want to reduce cooling on the ICH at all especially when running SSDs

Yeah, apparently many boards, including mine, only had two screws holding the NB heatsink in place. I don't know if this was deliberate or if it was a mistake.

I had temp issues with my NB as well. Seems as if this is par for the course on this board. With the NB fan+heatsink I was getting 75C-80C. I replaced the TIM and temps instantly dropped down to 60C. Eventually I switched to watercooling and now the NB temps are always below 30C.
