Help!! 3.3v Voltage Dropping to 2.7v - 2.8v

Thread Starter
hi, I have noticed in bios that my system's 3.3 v rail often drops to 2.8v - 2.7v that's the red zone. Sometimes it will stay within 2.9v - 3v's ... everything runs fine, no bsod, no crashes in any tests or games.

I have a good modular strider psu from silverstone with enough amps on the rails and its a 620W unit.

But i am very concerned about the 3.3 v drop. What devices is the 3.3 used for? and should I worry much that if it can potentially kill my psu or other components? or if there is anyway to fix this?buttkick.gif

Q8200 @ 3.1GHZ - 1.375v
Ram at 1.6v
NB 1.45v
SB @ 1.20v

most other stuff is left auto..

Software readings right? if so don't trust it.
I don't know much about power supplies, but I do know that that's a sign of a power supply going bad. Buy one of those $10/$20 power supply testers.

And as the person above stated, if it's a software reading.. it's probably incorrect.

Eh I find those aren't the worlds most handy things around tbh.
I should find that screenshot of hwmonitor saying my 12v rail was at -13.45v.

are you sure? its in the bios.. but everything runs smooth, no crashes, just worried if this is early signs of something very bad about to happen..frown.gif

Software misread. If it was that low, your RAM would be unstable.
Once again...

They work more often than they don't. Unless you buy a ****ty $5 tester.
