Best single card for BF:Bad Company 2

Thread Starter
Ran into some Crossfire issue with Bad Company 2 which requires me to disable and re-enable Crossfire regularly and it's pretty annoying.

Therefore I'm considering getting a more powerful single card solution to play Bad Company 2.

I play at 1920x1200 resolution with high setting, some AA/AF(or whatever it's called lol). I used to have a single 5870 before 6850 Crossfire, the 5870 didn't give me any issues but I could not get constant 60FPS with the 5870.

I'm looking for a card that can give me constant(98% the time would be fine, lol) 60FPS with Bad Company 2 running at the setting mentioned above. Also the less heat output by the card, the better it is. (so no 580 here )

Don't really care about Nvidia or AMD, as long as it meets the criteria above

Which card do you guys recommend? 570? 6950? 6970?

I already sold the 5870 Matrix a few months ago, now using 6850 as mentioned in the original post.

GTX570 or HD6970; whichever you can get for cheapest.

or
obviously GTX580 is the cream of the crop.

I see myself in a similar situation as you nardox...but I think I'm just gonna settle with the fact that BC2 is unconquerable. I have better luck running Crysis maxed than BFBC2 maxed (both at 1680 x 1050). With the rig I have listed in my signature, I get anywhere from 40-60 FPS. The game isn't worth that much trouble...and I've been playing BF since 42

I don't understand.. I play with both maxed out: I get ~130fps on BC2 but only ~80 on crysis. Granted I have modded my crysis, but BC2 is definitely easier to max out than crysis.

I've built a rig for my friend pretty different from mine (965BE, 8GB DDR2, 2x GTX260), and it also runs Crysis better than BC2. What drivers are you using? Also, both of your frame rates are playable...only one of mine are. I would much rather want to run BC2 maxed than Crysis

266.58, I think something is wrong on your side; Crysis is a much more demanding game. Maybe some other can chime in with their results.
