Certain monitors causing eyestrain

Thread Starter
Has anyone ever experienced certain LCD monitors causing you eyestrain for no reason? The settings are fine & everything else but it still causes eye strain and headaches for no apparent reason.

This happens on my LG W1953T. No matter what I do, it just causes eye strain within a minute and my body starts itching all over

how old is it? Its a bit small for my taste, and would give me a headache just from using it no matter what.

It's only 2 years old. There seems to be no problems with this monitor except it makes a buzzing noise frequently that dissapears randomly

I think I am going mad, please tell me why my new Samsung LCD monitor is causing me eye strain but my old one isn't. (both CCFL backlit)

Old: Samsung Syncmaster P2350 (http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/monitors/lcd/LS23LRZKUV/ZC-spec)

New: Samsung Syncmaster B2030 (http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/monitors/lcd/LS20PUZKFVUZA-spec)

My new one was even set to a higher refresh rate and flickers less than the old one but still I get eyestrain. I do use DVI connection for the old one though, wonder if that makes the difference.

Usually it's a function of brightness / low refresh rates / resolution.
Looking at both of those Sammys, the resolution is different. Maybe your eyes are not used to it?

One message forum a guy claims that it's because I'm using analog connection for the new monitor whereas for the old one I'm using digital connection.

Also, is there anywebsite where I can check whether I truly have fluroescent backlighting and that they didn't BS me?

Here bro,

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1675727

FWIW: 2007WFP's the easiest on my eyes of all monitors I've ever used. I'm setting into a Samsung S27A950D right now though...not as easy, but very nice for gaming.
