Hello to all,

Well, I have a problem with one of my fans. It warn me when i boot that have a "CPU fan error.....it then shuts down"

Current temp in rig:
Mobo:90
CPU 1: 73°F
CPU 2: 73 °F
Aux: 77 °F

i bypass the error message by pressing f2 at startup. Now, SpeedFan 4.42 (latest) shows up as this:

Fan1: 18 RPM <

Fan2: 3897 RPM
Fan3: 0 RPM
Fan1: 0 RPM
Fan2: 1880 RPM
Fan3:0 RPM
Fan4:0 RPM
Fan5:0 RPM

Looking in my case, all fans are going normal.

My ? is, where is Fan1: 18RPM located in my rig? Is it in the PSU or sumthn???

Thanks everone

It's probably the CPU fan, but that depends on the motherboard, and I'm sure it's not running at 18 rpm. Take the side panel off and look for a really really slow spinning fan (if it's really doing 18 rpm).

EDIT: Adizz I've had a Fan1 that was the rear exhaust fan.

It cant be running at 18RPM must be a faulty sensor. Fan1 must be the CPU cooler fan. I'm sure you can disable the automatic shutting down in the BIOS.

That is the heatsink backplate for the cpu cooler for AMD. They all look the same for AMD.

What you are asking for is a pic of the retention system.

Wait a sec, now I am confused.
OP you posted a PIC of an AMD backplate. Is this problem with an Intel or AMD? AKA your sig rig?

ooh, I can't say i'm the worlds most familiar with AMD in general.
I may be useless on how to install this thing, other then a follow the instructions.

Best I can say is to follow the instructions very well, to remove the plastic that's on the bottom of the heatsink. and to apply the thermal paste right.

edit: How to apply thermal paste
