Messed up

Thread Starter
Well I bought an Asus Xonar Essence ST card and unfortunately I didn't realize that it was a PCI card rather the PCIe (I am retarded), anyways I really do not want to RMA and get the STX.

Now my question is can I drop my GTX 470's down to the 2nd and 3rd PCIe lanes and still have the same performance?

BTW this is on my sig rig

So long as your 2nd and 3rd PCIe lanes can simultaneously run at x8 (or higher) then you should be ok.

Though I would still recommend RMA.

You mean to clear a PCI slot and put the sound card in? Shouldn't notice, as long as they are running at the SAME bandwidth as the old setup. Some boards have the last 1 or 2 slots at 8x or 4x instead of full 16x. I would look up your board's specs and check to see how those 2nd and 3rd slots are running compared to the top slot + 2nd slot.
